I love getting dressed in LA, for many of the same reasons I love getting dressed in spring - both allow for a simple, casual approach. So naturally, all the pieces I’ve been reaching for this spring made it into my suitcase for a 10-day trip to LA.
I didn’t set out to pack in a capsule style format, but I would rather rework the same few things I love, over and over than wear entirely new outfits just for the sake of it. There’s a reason the wheel doesn’t need to be reinvented.
I worked a few other things in, but the base of these looks are made up from the same handful of hero pieces.
Here’s what I’ll be wearing in LA this week, and for the rest of the season.

What makes this outfit, and the many outfits to follow, is this western belt. I had been on the hunt for something that had a similar effect as this belt (seen here and here), but slightly more wearable for daily use.
My obsession with these jeans lives on. I mentioned them the other week, but I haven’t reached (not once!) for my vintage Levi’s since getting these, if that tells you anything (it should). They run fairly true to size, but if you’re torn between two sizes I’d suggest the larger. I’m wearing a 26 for a slightly looser fit. It looks like some sizes are available for pre-order, to be shipped out later this week.

The cashmere v-neck is vintage, but Extreme Cashmere makes one that is nearly identical. Linea Lund, a gorgeous cashmere line out of Italy, also makes an equally timeless v-neck sweater.
I have a weakness for slippers, and for jacquard, so it tracks that I caved on these. Comfort over everything…no regrets so far.

Risking sounding dramatic, this oversized Jil Sander crossbody bag has kind of changed my life. I’ve been using it for travel and in lieu of a diaper bag thanks to its endless capacity and soft, light leather. I found the bag on Bessette, a curated edit of timeless designer pieces at discounted prices. It looks like they only have the small version left, but I found a large one here. Prada’s hobo bag would have the same effect.
Other great travel sized alternatives: this recently released nylon bag from Studio Nicholson, and their doublet bag. The brand makes beautiful bags period. Cos also does a great oversized tote, exhibit B, and because I love a backpack.

The moment I saw these pants online I knew they were going to be good. They brushed cotton is soft and because there’s no front pockets or outer side seam, they feel like actual sweatpants. They’re meant to be cropped but I’m a (short) 5’8 and they’re the perfect full length on me. I’m wearing them in bone.

Another pair of incredibly comfortable and easy to wear khaki colored pants, this time in nylon. The fabric is crisp but easy to move around in, making it a versatile set for travel, hanging at the park, or running around town.

Happy simple, spring dressing!
This is exactly how I always want to be dressing. Thank you for the amazing inspo!
I need absolutely all !
