It’s April, so naturally the forecast is showing rain, and a lot of it. Which for me, means, spoiler… sweatshirts and nylon outerwear.
After years of avoiding weather appropriate attire, I have finally accepted that rain is a constant in life. So if you’re anything like me and held off on rain boots for longer than you’d care to admit, know that your future self will thank you for having the proper gear whenever the next rainy day comes along.
This will come to an absolute shock to no one, but today’s send is chock-full of vintage Prada, but also practical finds.
Nylon is my love language, and it’s no surprise that Still Here is speaking it fluently with their most recent collection. As is Aflalo, who made the perfect red anorak (hood!). Help me decide which of these vintage Prada rain jackets are better… this one with… lace trim…(hood!) or this one with a dare I say, slight western touch, that I’m very much in support of.

You can’t not mention Barbour in a conversation on rain jackets, and this trench is what timeless dreams are made of, while this gingham take rivals the checked coat from The Row. Toteme always does outerwear well, and the weather proof windbreaker (hood!) is no exception. More vintage Prada, and some more (hood!). This patent looking one would also make an outfit.
After a few years of searching, I finally got my hands on a pair of Phoebe Philo Celine rain boots, and I really love them. They run a bit small, (size EU 36, 40, 41, 41). This rubber pair looks just as good. I also like the puddle boot, and seem to be in good company.
I still love my Hunter Boots, as does Ashley Olsen. They’re obviously great worn with leggings, or with a jean tucked in, but once it warms up they’re fun with shorts and a long trench.
The Row also makes some functional rubber soled shoes that can withstand the elements.

I have hardly taken off these jeans since getting them. I didn’t expect to have such strong feelings about a light wash pair of denim, but here we most certainly are. The online description reads “an ode to perfect-fit vintage denim”, and that doesn't even do them justice. Because I had 0 patience and was dying to wear them, I cut a few inches off the bottom and have zero regrets. Slightlyyy cropped pants are an essential part of a rainy day outfit.

I’ve been rotating through my collection of “borrowed” hotel umbrellas, because baby, but on the opposite end of that spectrum, here’s a totally unnecessary Hermès one, for a fraction of the retail price.
Hope you’re staying dry! I’m off to escape the rain for a few days.
Love all this! For the Aflalo jeans, how do you find they fit? True to size?
this was so helpful!!
