Buckle up, there are lots of ideas in here.
This guide is a blend of luxury and practicality, with just a little ridiculousness thrown in, because that’s what makes a gift (guide) good! At least in my eyes.
Do we like gift guides, anyway? Do you shop from them? Are they actually helpful? Just fun to look at?
Anyways….
There’s no real method to this madness, and these suggestions aren’t organized in any specific way (sorry!). We’ll start off with two strong but simple ones: a gift card to The RealReal, or a pilates package to the studio of the recipients choice.
This sweater is a crowd pleaser 10 times out of 10. Another can’t go wrong option? A cashmere throw or a lovely pair of pajamas.
On a more creative note, the Stair Tote is an unexpected gift for the parent who loves to passively place belongings at the base of the stairs, as a not so subtle reminder to bring them up (hi Mom). It’s also lovely for someone short on storage, to house umbrellas or for easy access to winter accessories.
For the craftier type, a beginner basket making kit, so your loved one can weave something of their own.
These lavender sachets make for a beautiful little gift, and the up-cycled vintage linens are a nice touch. I love to keep some in my suitcase and totes so they stay smelling nice. These are also good.
I’ve had the same Away carry on for 8 years now. It has held up quite impressively and comes at a fair price point for such a sizable gift. If anyone out there is reading this, I wouldn’t mind upgrading to the aluminum edition.
The Vacation site is...chaotic but fun. They have amusing stocking stuffers, like this air freshener variety pack. Also scent forward, but on the other end of the spectrum, this perfume in a glassblown bottle is both sophisticated and beautiful. At a lower price point, they offer a discovery set. Sticking with Bottega, this key ring makes for a classic gift.
For the design aficionado, a deck of Rose Uniacke playing cards.
If Suzie Kondi has one fan, it’s me. Her luxe hand-knitted cashmere beanie will keep anyone warm and cozy this winter.
Other gifts include: a silk bandana, this hand duo set, Gucci’s rosso ancora wallet, a honey scented candle and bar soap set, a brass siren bottle opener, and an 18karat gold diamond bracelet.
I have a weird obsession with tape measurers, and reach for mine more than might be expected. Based on the few conversations I’ve had with others, I’m surprisingly not alone. Two beautiful options here and here.
At the time of this send, this leather rummikub set is still in stock, but feels like the kind of thing that won’t be around for long. This personalized set is another great option.
This stainless steel card or dice case, and these walnut spice mills (which I have and passionately love) are perfectly giftable.
Anything Dorsey is guaranteed to be a hit, my latest favorite being this graduated bezel necklace.
If I’m buying one thing for myself off this guide (that I think Max would be equally excited about), it’s this tote bag.
For the heating pad addict, perhaps a sheepskin hot water bottle to stay warm this winter. And for your friend who appreciates the details and a bit of whimsy, a beautiful box of Happy Menocal stationary.
For a baby, a leather bound copy of the classic Goodnight Moon, and for a baby dog, a pajama shirt.
For someone at the office, or a white elephant exchange, a pack of old school premium peppermint sticks, or some Bonne Maman hazelnut spread.
For an embroidery obsessed friend, these pillow cases, and for the friend whose love language is cooking for others, anything Staub in the shade grenadine.
An engraved cocktail shaker makes a good accompaniment to a bottle of alcohol. And because the Via Carota ready-to-serve cocktails were the star of last year’s guide, I’m relinking them here. If your recipient isn’t into alcohol, Ghia has a wonderful variety of gifting sets.
I kept the beauty suggestions to a minimum, because more on that front later, but couldn’t resist including this rose body oil or this perfume keychain.
Another something sweet, a beautiful tin of chocolate covered almonds, or for a slightly more advanced combination, a chocolate and parmigiana reggiano set of bonbons. Speaking of bonbons, I would be remiss not to mention this new set (get ‘em while they’re hot), which conveniently leads me to this.
Celine was not messing around this year with their gifts. On the off chance you have a designer obsessed yogi in your life, this yoga block might do the trick. For the pet obsessed, this dog brush, and this candle accessory set is worth a mention. Or perhaps this engraved matchbox sleeve.
I’m a sucker for an Hermès gift. These travel pouches are great and appeal to a wide range of recipients. The nail files are fun, same with the brushes. This is sweet. And now I have myself questioning if I need this?
If jewelry is what you’re after, you might find some inspiration in this post.
And some additional personalized suggestions here.
Only kidding.
Fingers crossed you found something in here to help you with a few names on your list. I would love to hear what you’re most excited about this year.
More gifting suggestions to come! In the meantime, if you’re wanting more, you can check out last year’s guide.
Happy gift giving!
