I was really excited to put this weeks’ newsletter together, and even placed a few orders in the hopes of making this feel comprehensive and somewhat of a “loungewear bible” (fail), but I ended up not loving the new things I ordered. They felt disconnected from the rest of my closet. I find it’s always better to build over time, and invest in pieces you absolutely love and feel strongly about. Which often means my clothes aren’t the most readily available or the easiest to link - usually a few seasons old, secondhand, or things I happened to be lucky enough to find at a great price. Somewhat defeating the whole point of this, I know. But hopefully you can at least gather some inspiration here, if nothing else.
I ended up sticking to the pieces I already have in my closet, can’t imagine getting dressed without, and reach for on a weekly basis. Truth is, I’m a religious outfit repeater and I actually love that about myself.
When I first tried on this grey sweater last month, I wasn’t totally sold. My thoughts very quickly changed, and I realized I’ve been reaching for it more than any other item in my closet. Heather Cashmere Pants, Fairy Slipper (these serve a similar purpose, or even these, these, or this pair)
If you aren’t interested in breaking the bank over a sweater (fair enough), here are some other good options to consider.
You’re probably sick of seeing this outfit, and I get it. If you’re new - Sofi pants + Lauren Manoogian cardigan. If you’re looking for a coordinating set, this color would work perfectly. My Uggs are from the madhappy collaboration, but a similar shade here
I wish I had more cashmere pant recommendations to share with you other than Lisa Yang. An affordable pair seems very hard to come by, and I find a wool/cashmere combo to be itchy or heavy when it comes to pants. These are the best non Lisa Yang pair I’ve found, but the sizing is limited. If you have a fabulous cashmere pant rec please share with us below!
Ritz Paris sweatshirt and thermal lounge pants. I was not expecting to love these pants as much as I do (this photo doesn’t do them justice at all, my fault) but they’re extremely comfortable and flattering as far as sweatpants go. Great for staying at home, but would also work with sneakers and a wool coat for running out. Also avail in a matching henley
Forever my favorite sweat set, this half-zip (also avail in a crewneck cut if you prefer that) and sweats. You can use ILANA15 for 15% off
Not the most readily available, sorry that seems to be a reoccurring theme here. This set is similar. Mine is a few seasons old but there’s some availability on resale sites - red top and bottom, also here and here, black top and bottom, brown henley, grey henley, white joggers. I own three of these henleys and can’t reccomend them enough.
Organic cotton PJ set (super light weight) - the details on these are SO cute. The buttons are embossed with “do not disturb”, and there’s a tiny embroidered heart on the sleeve. + my favorite slippers (I’ve gifted them a handful of times and they’re always a huge hit)
Another great pair of pajamas, they make me feel like an American Girl doll (who else had Molly and this bed?) These are a slightly heavier cotton than the blue pair above
Hope you’re all staying cozy this week/month/season!!
Great loungewear pieces! And 😆 American Girl Doll. Nailed the description
Love love love - what size did you go for in the Lauren M cardigan? Xx
