What's Up!
Boucheron and baby vintage
A little Sunday afternoon catch up on the week!
I spent a lovely afternoon at a John Lautner home viewing Boucheron’s private collection and learning more about the history of the house. If you were also blown away by the necklace in Morgan Stewart’s recent TikTok, here it is, and it’s even more wow in person. Naturally I’ve been going down a Boucheron rabbit hole ever since and have been admiring this Reflet watch.
I’m anti-hauls lately, but I think I’m in the clear with this one. I haven’t been shopping much for myself lately, my most recent purchase being this little book haul for Willa. She’s currently very into birds, belly buttons and blueberries so these books have all been a huge hit. I found most of them on Thriftbooks because I try not to be an Amazon addict.
I spend way more time than I’d like to admit shopping for Willa’s clothes, and I find a lot of joy in hunting down good vintage finds for her. My favorite sites for baby vintage: This Little Piggy Wears Vintage, Fillie, Home Brand, and Darling Shop. But also don’t sleep on Poshmark. If anything deserves to be behind a paywall, it’s honestly that. ^
Whenever I share a picture of Willa I always get questions on her shoes and I get it, baby shoes are so hard to get right. She’s on her third pair of Victoria sneakers and we love them. I’m certainly no pediatric footwear expert, I think that goes without saying, but she’s comfortable in these and the sole feels pliable enough! They’re made in Spain and have been around for over 100 years. Both sound like good things.
A refreshing amount of time this week was spent doing non baby things, which included afternoon tea to celebrate Furtuna’s newly launched tea and honey, an inspiring dinner with Grover Rad in honor of their new collection, and a reading of Laura Brown and Kristina O’Neill’s new book, All the Cool Girls Get Fired.
We’re doing bullet points now.
I can’t tell you what’s going on over at SSENSE, but I can tell you that they’re well stocked in my drug of choice, Flore Flore. My most worn styles: the Max longsleeve, the Esmé tank, and the Car t-shirt. The also have a great selection of Gil Rodriguez, a soft alternative to Flore Flore.
More Reformation x Camille Rowe, and not to get ahead of ourselves but the whole collection feels like it was created with holiday party attire in mind. The Felix top reminds me of many vintage tanks I’ve hearted on The RealReal over the years. I’m also into this dressy cream take on a button down.
Oak Essentials x Jenni Kayne dropped their self-care advent calendar.
The breakthrough skincare line Sweet Chemistry is now sold at Violet Grey. I’ve been working the Barrier Repairing Oil Serum and Elasticity Hydra-Cream into my routine. You don’t have to take my word for it, Cassandra Grey approves the product herself. As a reminder ILANA15 gets you 15% off at Violet Grey.
In other breaking news, Kallmeyer has a strong sale happening and some great Lisa Yang knitwear is marked down.
Warby Parker added new shapes to their collection and I want this pair for Max and I to share.
I’ll be using the rest of Willa’s nap time today to answer some beauty + skincare questions over on Instagram if you want to come hang there!
