The Search for the Perfect White Cashmere Crewneck
And why it's the ideal transitional piece for Spring
As I’ve been getting dressed lately, I’ve found myself missing a white-ish crewneck sweater that fits. So I placed a few orders and dove deep into the rabbit hole of the endless variations of white, ivory, cream, ecru etc. etc. (one I’ve been down many atimes before).
I’m only now seeing this one, and while it wouldn’t work for my current state, in a pre-pregnancy world, I definitely would have gone for it. The color, slim fit and bracelet-length sleeves would have made the sweater the ultimate, every day piece.
Extreme Cashmere, I have this sweater in taupe, and while I loove it, it certainly doesn’t work with a bump due to the slightly cropped silhouette. For anyone who is looking for a slightly cropped, 90’s inspired, silhouette in the perfect shade of red, today is your day
J Crew, also cute, also not belly conducive.
I loved this Toteme one, I really did but I just felt that the batwing sleeve was a little too batwing for my liking. If you can look past that (and the price tag) the color (macadamia, how sweet), weight and neckline were just perfect. I might regret not keeping it, and will probably never stop thinking about this one.
Khaite’s Mae sweater in cloud was so close, but it was slightly warmer toned than what I was going for. This felt more creamy/yellow than anything.
Frame’s sweater in vanilla was the winner for me. I guess I’m partial to a cashmere/silk blend. I was looking for something long and loose enough that I could wear this spring but also tuck in post pregnancy, and this one checked those boxes. I’m wearing the men’s M so I have room to grow, and so Max and I can share. Better depiction of the color on this site.
While it doesn’t currently exist, I’m praying to The Row Gods (Mary-Kate and Ashley I guess?) to produce this sweater in this color white. Who’s with me?
How I’m planning on wearing it, now through spring
vintage levi’s for an easy every day look, as pictured
black leather pants and black boots for a night out + a red bag for a pop of color
black leggings, a black wool coat and sneakers
brown accessories (boots, bag, belt) and a pair of jeans
white loose denim

And because I go crazy for Re/Done basics (their pieces make up the majority of my every day casual wardrobe - example A, B, C), I thought I would share my recent favorites from their new Spring 24 collection, like this lettuce edge long sleeve, a scoop neck pointelle and some very good tanks. These jeans are making me consider breaking my ‘no buying for post pregnancy’ rule. The blacken blue wash is a dream and I love the silhouette (sigh). Their secondhand marketplace is still going strong, and has a great selection of vintage pieces, like this 70’s seashell necklace.
Til next week!
This list is just what I needed on this lazy Sunday evening! Currently sitting reading this in this one — also a gem! https://louloustudio.fr/en/oversized-bruzzi-sweater/#/27-size-xs/28-couleur_loulou-ivory
I’ve been looking for a pure white cashmere sweater for ages. Not cream, off-white, or any other variation. Pure white (like white t-shirt white) looks great with my coloring but anything with the tiniest bit of yellow or cream makes me look sallow. Any recommendations anyone?
