For todays sake, we’re using the term satin loosely. Silk…satin, I know there’s a difference but today we’re talking about the power and versatility of both, but no need to get too caught up in it.
So here’s a bit of a love letter.
I had my eye on this jacket for quite awhile, and it’s been one of those purchases I’m so glad I made. The moment I slipped it on, I was getting vintage Prada energy (and what’s better than that?). I know it’s the type of piece I’ll have for many years to come. It works just as well during pregnancy as it will after (highly highly recommend if you’re pregnant and struggle with dressing up). It’s comfortable, easy to wear and can be dressed up or down, 3 principle traits I look for when making a purchase.

A black satin dress can so easily be worn as cocktail attire for a special event, or to a laid back dinner on vacation.
If you don’t already have one in your closet, consider this your sign. It’s exactly the kind of piece your future self will thank you for, for having on hand.
Two of my other favorite options (both under $450, but I promise the CPW will make it worth it regardless):
Moving away from dresses,
I don’t have a black silk/satin shoe.. but I certainly would like a pair
And now for 16 of my favorite second hand black silk finds
