Arguably the most important piece in a summer wardrobe of a girl who doesn’t love to show leg - the poplin pant.
Lightweight, easy, comfortable and just as good on a morning coffee run as they are out to dinner. They’re what I reach for most summer mornings. Poplin pants are important, and seemingly always out of stock (my plea to brands to please up the inventory next summer).
A surprise to absolutely no one, but I wanted these Khaite poplin pants the moment I saw them. I talked myself out of them since I already have two pairs I love - one with an elastic waistband, the other with an adjustable drawstring. These are cut slightly wider through the leg than the other two, but are another great option. I haven’t tried these, so I can’t vouch for them just yet but love the look. The same goes for this pair which are pleasantly in stock and ready to be yours. If you’re in the market for a pair in dark brown, you’ve come to the right place.
You can obviously wear said pants with a great tank and flip flops during the day. But for a night out, it’s really just as easy. Make a swap for something strapless, metallic, or lacey, throw on your shortest heel and you’re good to go.

As someone who prioritizes comfort and functionality when getting dressed for the day, the above looks spoke to me and all felt like accurate representations for how I like to dress and feel. It’s a little bit sporty, definitely uncomplicated, and most of all wearable. We’re not solely focused on poplin pants at this point, but they still track.

Baserange also operates in this same world. If you told me these were The Row, I would believe you.

Closing the loop on the tool bag saga, I’m going all in and went with the red, but will surely regret that decision. Not because it’s the wrong one, but because that’s just what I do (hi chestnut).
For a very early outing over the weekend, I wore this sweatshirt (in dirty white but check out meringue) with my trusty Proenza x Birkenstock sandals, poplin pants (duh) and this stripe tote. Looking back, it lined up pretty nicely with the inspiration I gathered above. Woo!

Other things that caught my eye lately:
Most notably these leopard shoes, this leather loafer also looks nice
The only good summer wedding guest dress there is. And ya there really only is one, except for maybe this one, which is actually the same dress just with insane netted sequins. It’s rough out here…I would know. I have a wedding this weekend and in the spirit of keeping some mystery alive, I won’t tell you how long I’ve spent searching for the right thing. We are down to the wire and I’m praying for a miracle (this is my usual method when it comes to dress shopping)
If you’re still with me, a nice bag to wear with it ^
And if you also don’t like shorts but for some reason or another are looking to purchase a pair, I really do like these, and I’m going to wear them. Hold me to it
I also have a Violet Grey code (!!!) that I am so excited to share! ILANA15! My recs from the site live here.
Soon I hope to share where I’m at with dressing for a trip to Europe later this summer. For now, I hope you’re all enjoying July! and all the stone fruit that comes along with it.
the tool bag looks great in red on you !
I love a good poplin pant
