You have a holiday party on your calendar. That might be exciting to some, dreadful to others. Either way, here are 5 straightforward thought starters to get you going, and ensure you look, but more importantly feel, good! Enjoy!
Fun top + black pant:

Stretching the word fun, but this sweater would even work well here, paired with the same pants.

Various levels of sheer, depending on the crowd and your comfort level. I also love how this one can be worn either way.

As far as black pants go, these pants did kind of change my life. Dramatic, I know, but they really are that good. I wore them to a cocktail event, and on the plane ride home, if that tells you anything about the versatility.
Theory always does a good trouser. If you’re wanting something cropped, this is a good option, for a looser fit, these are nice. This cigarette leg looks great.
A little black dress:

Khaite does really good black dresses, and there’s no shortage of styles on sale. I love the intentional straps on this one, longer version here. Both will withstand the test of time. Equally chic and beautiful.
Pair with tights or a knee high boot.

This Doen number is just as timeless, and works especially well for the holiday season. It’s somewhat of a blank canvas, so you can add your own personal touch, such as a beautiful necklace or two, a vintage brooch, or a statement pair of shoes. Maybe this stunning red and gold clutch.
Réalisation Par also does two easy black dresses, The Gemma and The Carrie.
Other strong contenders: this off the shoulder midi dress, a shorter, flirtier option and this beautiful strapless dress that could easily be shortened if needed.
Because we love us some The RealReal:

A blazer jacket:

These jackets read more evening and less office-y than your standard blazer, making them party appropriate.
